Wine Regions

Where are the most beautiful wineries in the world?

Use our map to find the best wineries around the world. Every recommendation has been personally visited and tasted. While a beautiful tasting room and experience is a plus, we focus primarily on how the wine tastes, smells and makes us feel.

What is the best wine region to visit?

For bigger, bolder type wines, look for warmer climates like California (Napa Valley, Paso Robles), Australia (Barossa, Margaret River) or South Africa (Stellenbosch, Swartland).

For lighter-bodied wines, see cooler regions on the coast or most places in Europe like Burgundy, Mosel and Barolo.

Where is the best wine in the world made?

This is very subjective, but we have our favorites! In no particular order, we love: Burgundy in France, Martinborough in New Zealand, Hemel-en-aarde in South Africa,  Santa Rita Hills in California, Rioja in Spain, Uco Valley in Argentina, Margaret River in Australia.

What’s the best way to taste while traveling?

Wine tasting procedure varies by country. To make sense of it all, we created helpful wine guides. To get started, simply use the wine map to sort by region.

What are the best wine festivals in the world?

We are partial to the Wine Fight in Rioja (similar to the tomato throwing festival). The celebration of Pinot in South Africa, World of Pinot in Santa Barbara and La Paulee in New York are also worth looking into.
